I love seeing innovative design in such basic appliances as refrigerators and this new light bulb design is brilliant too. It's your same basic light bulb with the major exception in that it lies flat and is thus 1/3rd the size of normal light bulbs. Korean designer Joonhuyn Kim's flat light bulb is just a concept design at this point, so no word on production just yet, but I'm hoping to be one of the first buyers!

Ordinary bulbs like this are highly energy inefficient. Looks interesting, but I wouldn't actually use it.

They're inefficient? Hmm. What do you use?

Rad. If only these weren't invented when incandescent bulbs were still popular. Or legal for that matter (Australia's banned em' - with other countries sure to follow).
