Mary Robinson: Interview

Please enjoy my interview with Mary Robinson.

Mary Robinson: Interview

How did you first get into photography?

About a year ago, my best friend found her dad's old film camera in his closet and I was kind jealous so I asked my mom if she had one. The next day she dug up her old, broken Canon AE-1 and we went to go get it fixed at a local camera store. I've been taking pictures of my pets, sister, and friends ever since.

What do you like shooting the most?

I like shooting people the most. I take the most pictures of my friend Isabel and my sister but I've shot all of my friends at one point or another. A lot of people I vaguely know through other friends have been interested in posing for me and we've become friends because of it.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I see myself finishing up art school with a photography major. I want to learn more about digital and the studio before I start doing photography professionally... right now all I know is film. I hope I can make photography my career but I'm not really sure I could handle it. Even if I end up doing something completely different, I know I'll be taking pictures on the side.

What's your dream photography job?

My dream photography job would be working for some big magazine. That's what I want to do right now, but It'll probably change by the time I graduate. I don't really care what I'm doing as long as I'm happy and taking pictures I like.
